I never tried this with a console, just old VHS tapes, but you can buy a device to capture video output (Amazon, search "usb converter video") and attach it to your Xbox output and your PC/Mac. I personally have a Dazzle by Pinnacle and it works pretty well, but it's only supports RCA cables. I am sure there is one that supports HDMI and/or Component input. You should be able to find a HDMI splitter for the Xbox output, or output with the component and HDMI at the same time, so you can have one feed going to the TV and one going to your PC, so your gameplay isn't affected (could be choppy on the PC during recording, but the playback should be fine). I recommend using included/additional software to record a voice-over track so it's easier to adjust game volumes while you're speaking (if you want to get that sophisticated). Using a voice-over also makes it easier to remove rambling segments, controller noise, mic noise, or other interruptions without removing game audio. 4 months ago
