Lord of the Rings Online on Xbox 360 to have a monthly fee?
What gives with that?
Best Answer
Hmmm.. I don't see a problem really. there aren't many MMO's that don't have a fee.
if there is a free trial I'll give it a shot. been wanting another MMO to play that isn't WoW.
WoW can get shot in the face for all I care.

Well, most MMOs do have fees, the PC version of LOTRO has a fee. You may already be paying MS a fee to use their service, but the publisher/developer of an MMO still needs to make money somehow to keep it going, so they charge a fee.

The upkeep on a massively multiplayer persistant world game like that is much more demanding of resources than other multiplayer games like Gears of War or MotoGP 09, so that cost gets passed on to the consumer.
Personally I don't care because I have no interest in Lord of the Rings or MMO's in general.
