Fallout 3 - What's the best way to take out a Raider with a missile launcher?

If you get some of the super accurate guns, like the hunting rifle that's named or the lincoln repeater, you can easily pick them off before before they do much damage. You should also try to use vats and aim for the dudes head, or you could aim for the launcher itself and try to break it. You should probably also have a huge amount of healing items, stimpacks are a dime a dozen in the game so dont be afraid to spam them.

I usually strafe left and right and charge at them, all the while trying to get a good VATS lock on the raider with the missile launcher. Continually go in and out of VATS to check percentages and take pock shots if necessary...sometimes luck can be on your side and you can score a headshot at less than 10%.

Obviously the first priority is the missile launcher guy since he can do the most immediate damage. Take him out with a headshot and the other guy is easy pick'ns

1). Hunting rifles are teh suck, period. They're low damage, low clip size and slow to fire. If you're already at that point in the game you should be expanding your horizons in terms of guns - combat shotguns, laser pistols, assault rifles, scoped magnums etc.
2). If your repair skill is low then you'll pretty much never be in possession of a properly repaired gun, which flushes your damage potential down the bog.
3). Use VATS to aim for the missile launcher itself, knock it out of the raider's hands, ditto any other big gun or a super mutant armed with an assault rifle. They, or an accomplice, may pick it back up again, but you buy some time. If you're nearby you can pick it up before they do and p*** on their matches.
4). If possible use sneak to score a critical on the launcher-wielder.
5). Always hit the most damaging enemy first unless your enemies are mismatched in terms of HP, here they're both just raiders so ignore the pistolier.

Well... since it's based on a lottery system, just aim for the missle launcer guy's head first right when you spawn, or before he can get you. You probably have some stimpacks... I finished the game with about 250. Use those if need be. Rinse and repeat. That, or use a different weapon. Combat shotgun is fun.

put (~) then put coc TestQAitems and go to the locker that said all ammo an then go to the one named all weapons DON'T TAKE ALL!!!!! BECAUSE THERE IS A PROBLEM ONLY TAKE THE ALIEN BLASTER and then put (~) and put coc MegatonEntranse and you will take the Raider of one or two shots.
