Is anyone else getting absolutely psyched for Kojima's announcement?

Kojima has been teasing a new game, things point to Metal Gear Solid, but what is it?? MGS5? MGS4 for the 360?

What do you guys think??

Also, if you go to the site, look down the bottom right of the screen, the logo changes to a mask and it takes you to another site...

The Countdown timer ends at the same time the Microsoft Press Conference starts... so it is pointing toward the 360 release in my opinion.

I'm getting confused and excited at the same time... I don't have a PS3, so i'm hoping for MGS4 for 360 or MGS5 for cross-platform.

What does the GA community think about this one?

For all this hype, it's got to be a new game. It's nearly been a year since MGS4 was released, so it's the right time to start releasing teasers and tidbits of info on the next installment, if there will be one, and considering the site is showing MGS characters, I'd say so. I don't know the order of what's happening at E3, but does the Sony conference end at the time the Microsoft one starts? The site may not change until AFTER whatever's going to be revealed at E3 is going to be revealed. (The general public will probably find out afterwards.)
I'm hoping for a new game, I don't really care where it fits in on the timeline or even if it's a remake of Metal Gear like some people think. Any new MGS game created by Kojima is awesome news in my opinion.

  1. Not nearly as much as i am for MW2. But I guess thats because I KNOW its on the 360 ;). I hope MGS is coming to the 360.

  2. Wow, I never even thought about MGS4 for the 360.. huh. you think they would hype it this much though?. I dunno.. very possible.

    If that was the case I think it would be cooler, just for the fact that Kojima stated without a "doubt" this was the last MGS. but, what about this picture?

  3. Based on the info so far...it is highly unlikely that this is for MGS4 for the 360. The previous countdown timer pictured a field with a storm going on and three things would flash in the background: 5, E, 3. Now with the image of Big Boss and Raiden being thrown around, we are obviously looking at the next iteration of the Metal Gear Series.

    So yeah, MGS5 at E3 and MGS4 will, still, not be coming to the 360.

  4. Truthfully I love the MGS series, but hate countdown clocks...I hate them with a passion. So I have mixed feelings about the announcement. One thing is for sure I'll be happy when the clock is gone.

  5. No. I love Kojima, I think he's an interesting game developer, but this timer - whoops, more timer - whoops, more timer again! thing is full of cow ka-ka. I really couldn't give a crap at this point.
