Where would you live/hideout if a zombie apocalypse happened?

Yes Yes, I know this is not a question having to do with a video game. But ya, would you hide in an island like Austrailia or Hawaii, live in a city, on top of a building, etc?

These are my top 3 places:
1. A private island off the coast of Austraillia or New Zealand (There is lots of them; for food and supplies, I would drive to shore, then drive a barricaded car/van there)
2. In a barricaded mall (When I run out of supplies, I would go somewhere else)
3. In an abandoned mansion that has good security (I would just drive in a barricaded car/van to get food, water, supplies)

  1. Definately Wal-Mart. They got the necessities like food, guns, ammo, drinks, and bathrooms. Don't wanna be crappin' on the floor and then slip in it if you're running from a zombie.

  2. Somewhere where the elements don't favor life, like Alaskan mountains or something. Even if they are the undead at low temperatures there bodies would freeze solid. They can't ignore the laws of physics.

    The top of a steep mountain range that is impossible to walk up to would work as well.

    I wouldn't choose an island because they could walk on the bottom of the ocean floor and surface on your island. I feel a mansion would be too large and offer to many places for a zombie to get in.

    Basically a small space is ideal, big enough to supply yourself with necessaries but small enough that you can defend it while keeping an eye on the whole structure.

  6. A prison would probably be the most secure/ safest place to hide from zombies, but unfortunately their wouldn't be any supplies, like food, so it wouldn't help much. I see some people are saying Alaska and someone said Wal-Mart... Hm... How about a Wal-Mart IN Alaska?

If you pay close attention you can comprehend that zombies only see in heat vision which explains why if a horde happens in movies and video games that no matter how hard you hide in the dark they can find you. They would never be able to see the difference between my body heat and the suns rays in the middle east. Plus there's freakin guns everywhere in the Middle East and it would be easy to just hand a child a weapon since in the Middle East they learn how to use an RPG-7 by the age of six and an AK47 and 74 by the age of nine which means no freakin watching over any loose ends if I had to make a group.

  8. If you want a definitive answer you should read The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Gives all the info you would need to survive the coming zombie apocalypse. Me personally I would head to a police station first. If that was overrun I would go raid a gunstore such as a Big 5 and then find a secure location to barricade myself in. Of course this is all circumstantial depending on whether they are slow "Romero" zombies or the fast zombies. If they were slow I wouldn't need a hideout, just a machete and some good running shoes.

  9. First I would gather all neeccesary supplies to survive like food, water, guns, and ammo. Then, I would gather 3 more survivers (because if you noticed most zombie games have 4 survivors) most likely my friends and find probbally a farm. I chose a farm beacause there must be alot of food, it is small enough where i can keep an eye on the place but too big where the zombies couls overrun us. Another reason is that since it is a large field I can tell how far the zombies are and how many there are. Not to mention the good weapons.

  10. I would perfer to hide in a walmart in Alaska or any Cabela's, gun store or Home Dept. Though really as long as you have the gun and food combo. You really can't live without both. Shelter is optional because if your smart and have friends you can make a safe shelter out of any place.

  12. A lot of super rich people are building these lavish condo's/homes in old abandoned missle silos. Being undergound they would have all the natural protection needed, plue they would already be fitted with necessities like solar panels and rain collecting/water purification systems. Basically everything you would need to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The only thing you would really need to worry about would be food, and maybe water when rain is sparse. BUt since it is underground, you wouldn't really need to worry about getting too hot/cold because the earth is a perfect natural insulator. Keeping you cool and away from the hot sun in summer, but also keeping you warm from radiating heat from the earths core in winter. There is really not much to go wrong with a underground missle silo/ other than if the zombies were intelligent they might be able to trap you inside and you would eventually die. But that is what emergency escape hatches are for. So in the event of world war Z, ill meet you there.

  13. I think i would choose Ellis Island with a boat and a helicopter to travel with. Its remote but still close to land in case of emergencies. There's supplies already there, not a lot but something. And you could heli from place to place to grab whatever you want.

  14. Castle on an island with one or two long bridges, stocked with supplies (guns and food). It only will have one entrance, with the rest having a wall and barbed-wire gates and electric fences. The castle should also have its own electricity producing system.

  16. I would go nuts and steal a truck and get as many guns as humanly possible. Then I would go on a killing spree. I think I would choose a mall and lock myself in the tighest place and most secure area of the store. I would need to access the roof and stairs fairly easily as well.

  18. Honestly, somewhere very cold. I love the cold, so anywhere with a tundra climate would be my preferred place for a zombie apocalypse. If not that, then a warehouse like Costco, because it has food and supplies and it has good defences.

  19. i live in northern mn where it takes 3 weeks to get a gamefly game but also has brutal winters so i would just hide out at my cabin in the middle of the woods. the zombies would freeze solid from november to april so u could do whatever u wnated for 6 months and not have to worry about a zombie cuz theyd be frozen. ive grown up fishing and hunting so im not worried about food, although id stock up on gas for my generator so i could have entertainment and not go nuts

  20. An Aircraft carrier (Rivet city) would be ideal for all accommodations (Food storage, shelter, relocation ability,offensive might, solid defense, vast amount of space).. would just need to find a surviving nuclear engineer.. unless I could find a diesel powered variation.

  26. I'd live in my house. I have a lot of food and I'd kind of be out in the middle of nowhere. Like, seriously nowhere. If a zombie honestly happens by, I'd just hide like he's the mafia until he moves along. That is, if he can make it here without decaying and falling apart or something. The body would still decay, so they're not immortal.

    I have a garden which is pretty much endless food, too.

    That is, if we're talking zombies because if the "virus" seriously happened, it'd be more likely to begin in animals - and I think we know how much REGULAR bears suck. Imagine zombie bears, squirrels, etc. We'd be screwed.

  27. well heres a REALISTIC answer. since your not the ONLY person in the world who would think to go to walmart/home depot/ gun store, etc, how about people buy there stuff now? i ALREADY have a "bug out" bag and medic bag stashed in my closet to grab and go. it has medical supplies, light tools, military para cord, mountain house MREs and military MREs, etc. i also carry a .40 cal glock for sidearm, .40 cal sub 2000 carbine, pistol grip 12 guage shotgun, and a sniper mosin nagant, all with ammo to spare. i live in an apartment complex on the top floor with front and back balconies which are (i mean would be) great for sniping. 12 guage great for a zombie breach, .40 cal sidearm for up close and the sub 2000 for when i have to bug out and run. APARTMENTS are great because here in AZ, everyone has guns in my neighborhood. zombies dont stand a chance, and even at that, plenty of apts to raid for shelter or left over food. EVERYBODY SHOULDNT JUST FOCUS ON ZOMBIES. PREPARE YOUR MINDS JUST IN CASE SHTF.

I would go to Fort Hood, lots of guns and ammo, food enough to sustain a lot of people, it's a secure place which would keep out the zombies, and it would be big enough to allow other survivors to come in and get shelter. Plus, not a whole lot of people live around there, less people=less zombies

  45. I'm not sure I would hide, but constantly move to new places as need see's fit. Living on a island is to risky considering that there are very few unihabited islands in the world, and the ones that are ARE for a reason. A mall or Wal-Mart isn't good either because they are always in the middle of heavily inhabited areas which makes it prime pickings for zombies. The zombies might bring up memories from before and go there. Staying out in the ocean is bad because of the need of a fuel source for a ship and the need of supplies. You may be able to survive with a lot of fuel by just not using it, but supplies are going to be hard to come by and it isn't easy to park a Aircraft Carrier and the take a boat to a shore and get supplies to bring back for a whole crew of people. So, the most logical conclusion is to one, keep moving around, never staying a spot for to long, or two, seclude your self in a habitable, but uninhabitable zone for zombies.

  50. rural area atop a hill probably in the scotland area, acess to half the world from there and lower pop. then the americas, and fortify and old castle out there, makes for easy targets and the clear plains makes it easy to see targets comming and when it is safe to venture out

  54. I would go to the middle east, basically gather all the U.S. and Nato forces, launch a counter attack on the zombies....(2 years of war campaign) and then create a government team of highly specialized super soldiers, or spec ops, eliminate the threat of zombies from earth.

    5 years later assume control of the northern hemisphere, unite it under 1 flag and name it, "United Alliance of the Human Species, UAHS",
    Launch several hundred space projects and programs, begin settling surrounding planets. 5 years later there would be another zombie apocolypse, as well as an alien invasion and an internal human virus. unite the planets under 1 flag via "Human Alliance", join the Alien union and fight of the threats, die in a glorious and honoray battle and have my name immortalized as Hero of the Galaxy. Wal-mart/Home Depot combo that is next to eachother...think about it....They are all over the states! You have everything at Wal-mart for your medical supplies, food, Clothes, EVERYTHING. Then right next door, you have your HOME DEPOT! With Tools, Building Supplies, Pipes, Cords EVERYTHING. So when the zombie apocolypse happends....come see me, I'll be the one taking over the WALLIE WORLD AND HOME DEPOT IN A LOCAL TOWN NEAR YOU!! :)
