Well the population of america would be a lot skinnier. kids wouldn't have an excuse as to why they went off and killed a bunch of people Computers and the internet would only be used for email and porn. oh and Smart phones wouldn't be as much fun.

I'd have to find another hobby I guess.
I love technology so much that I'm not sure what i'd do. I guess I could drive boats for a living or something (In case you guys don't know, I drive 70 foot boats all the time. It's fun, but does get old fast).
The world certainly would be different. Instead of playing games with your friends online, you'd have to go outside and hang out. Most of us already do some of this, but i'm guess there would be much more of that.
Do you know what a big difference would be? No GameFly. Oh no! I'd probably jump off a bridge...

Video games pushed technology forward on a large scale. It became the defacto way to find out how well a new technology performs and really ushered in the idea of a social internet like minded community.
Technology wouldn't be where its at today. You wouldn't have the smart phone, DVD would be the standard media type and HDTV's would have never become mass market if in fact they were ever made.
The biggest change would be the way we communicate. We wouldn't have the websites we do today or the technology to use them anywhere. Being able to stay in touch with people around us and afar would be drastically diminished.
Table top games, comics and anime would be the in things for entertainment. But anime would never have gotten as big or wide spread. Music CD's would be the norm and more expensive to buy.
Basically the world wouldn't be as connected or seamless as it is now. All the things that gaming directly or indirectly influenced would have never happened.

According to Roger Ebert, everyone would be fine, upstanding members of society.

Screwed up!
Nah. In all seriousness, it be completely differnet beacsue gaming revolutionized technology as well as the media and many aspects of social life.
As many brought up technology wouldn't be as advanced because it's video games that inspired so many areas of science. Gaming has evolved into a great social experience and part of many people's lives. The economy today would be a train-wreck without companies like Nintendo, because buying games and game systems contributes to the economy. Also, parents and the news would still be complaining about rock music and television shows. On the flip side, many brought up that America would be thinner, but I say probably no more than 20% thinner. It's sttill an improvement but we still have movies and television. People would be doing a lot more practical things and we'd have more imagination than we do now (minus, the ideas for games like Halo, and Mario.)
Overall, more bad would come out of it than good because it affects so much in society today.- 0

A lot less obese people, but I think society would eventually get bored out of their mind and create video games anyway. I don't get how I could stand not playing games like gta, rdr, and mafia II! How did the most logical answer get put at the bottom? lol That tells you something....

I really couldn't answer that. If we didnt have any more videogames i dont think i would be so sad as to make out with Mr.Gun but it would be kinda sad. But at least the highschool shootings will probably stay the same so people like jack thompson finally have to STFU. Other than that i would probably devote my spare time to another hobby,,,,,,probably music....
