Why are people so stupid?

It's ridiculous how stupid people are on rating games. I normally look on gamefly ratings to check how good games are but the ratings are lower than normal because are stupid people, mostly small children, that give games ratings such as 1, 2, and 3. I'm pretty sure no game deserves a 1 or 2. I play Fallout New Vegas, and the rating on it is a 7, I scrolled through some of the ratings, most of them were cluttered with 1-5 ratings complaining about how the "first 10-15 minutes" of the game sucked. How about you try the game instead of judging it from the first 5 minutes? I happen to think New Vegas deserve at least a 7.5.

There are a couple of things that you have to set aside and just take as reservations before you look at ratings.

1. No game is for everyone and when people branch out and try games that aren't really for them they tend to respond more negatively.

2. When you start putting in your head a score a game should be around you are no longer in a position to accept a persons rating but looking to validate.

This is a problem all critics have scoring a game. Yes you have a point that a person who plays the first 10-15mins of a game hates it and rates the game solely on that probably isn't giving the entire game a fair shake, but at the same time if a game isn't made well to grab a person in this time frame then there are more problem there then the rating.

People have the right to formulate an opinion on something rather they play the whole game or a part, if you interact with it you will find rather its worth your personal time. User ratings are just a tool to see how the gamefly audience sways.

  1. Yeah, fanboys tend to troll and rate games with emotion instead of actual fact.

In my Video Reviews, that's my up most priority. You have to be logical when rating games. You can't get too excited over a few negatives.

  3. go to your local game store, look at the ten year old begging his mommy for Red Dead Redemption because it "looks cool". go back a week later when hes trading the game because the guns "sucked" and youll understand why people are idiots......idiots...

  4. Personally I love Fallout New Vegas.
Mainstream wise though. Save ruining glitches and not being able to free roam after beating the game probably hurt this title.
I for one have no problem with just stating what I remember reading on xbox.com forums its release week

  5. Yeah, I don't like it when people rate games so obliviously, it's usually because they did something to mess up their walkthrough or because the ending was bad. Personally, i thought New Vegas was great in many aspects so it definitely deserves a 7.5+.
