Can I play ps1 games on my ps3 slim?

Ive got a gift card to amazon.com and I'm thinking of getting the first metal gear solid but only if I can play it on my ps3.

Yes you should still be able to play PS1 disc based games on the system. They only took out support for PS2 games.

If you can buy it on the PSN store you definitely can play it on your PS3.

  3. How much is the game on Amazon? It might be cheaper to buy Metal Gear Solid from the PSN store, but I can understand if you want a hard copy instead. But yes, PS1 games can be played on a PS3.
