Do you like the new map or the old style map in the new "Elder Scrolls: Skyrim" ?

Referring to "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" , the paper drawn map... Do you like the new map or the old map better?

I liked the old map better -- The new map is awesome, but I do not think it fits inside the concept of elder scrolls. I liked how the old map had that folk-like/medieval impression to it. While this map is still neat I just wish they would have kept the old map layout.

I kind of liked the old map better. The 3D map looks pretty, but the older one felt a bit less confusing and more functional.

  1. The new map is absolutely better. It fits more in line with being a video game. I really like the way you can see weather systems on the map, it looks more like you are looking at the world of skyrim as opposed to just a regular map.

    For those who haven't completed the main story I won't ruin anything, but if you have there is a part where you clearly run into an item that clearly shows the elderscrolls themselves weren't just some generic parchment with writing on them, the technology in some of this stuff is super advanced. So it fits in that universe in my mind.

    Plus the fact its more in 3D and easier to see mountain peaks helps alot. The old map style would have been a knock to the game given the sense of verticality that is in Skyrim that really wasn't present in oblivion.
