Which Devil May Cry game should I play to get into the series?

Another franchise I want to get into is the Devil May Cry franchise. For a while, the only Cpacom franchises I played was Mega Man and Marvel vs. Capcom. Though, while I was playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3, 1 of my favorite characters to use is Dante. I learned that he was from the Devil May Cry franchise and looked up some gameplay footage. I liked what I saw and want to get into the franchise. But like the other 3 times, I don't know where to start.

Lol, like the silent hill question you asked, I also want to get into the Devil May Cry Games as well. And also like the Silent Hill series, there is an HD Devil May Cry Collection coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3, this one in April 2012. It has the first, second, and third ones in the series. It keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? :)

  1. Well, there is only 1 Devil May Cry for the 360 which is DMC 4. All the other ones released on the ps2 and ps3.

  2. 3 and 4 are the only ones worth your time. 1 was solid gameplay in its time, but these days just doesnt hold up (story or gameplay). 2 was made by a different company and its god awful. 3 and 4 are epic, and are the titles that made the series what it is. Get the HD collection which is releasing soon, to play #3. Then after that, rent #4. (DMC 4 is what made me quit being a PC gamer and switch to console, i feel very strongly about the series)

  3. the HD collection is due out in march so you will get a chance to try them all. I would say start with 3 if you have a chance. It was the best in my opinion.
