  2. Xbox 360 has a history of hardware failures. Because of this I wouldn't buy one online unless I could return it to a local brick and mortar store and it better come with some sort of warranty to make it worth my money.

    The cost of a 360 isn't that high. I don't see how you are saving enough money to buy a refurbished system to make it worth the risk that it either won't work or die on you in a short time frame.

    I always recommend buying your hardware new. You get a decent warranty and the piece of mind of knowing you are the only owner of the hardware, making it easier to have faith that it will work.
