Im confused I was checking out gamplay and reveiws but i still dont know what the yakuza games are about?
I am not dicrediting the games because they seem to have a loyal following but after watching gamplay I found my self more confused. Im not sure if it is a fighting game or RPG? also is it worth playing?

I just got Yakuza 3 about a week and a half ago. It's an action game, similar to Grand Theft Auto-without cars. You complete missions, jobs and sidequests like GTA but as an ex-Yakuza boss who is sucked back into the underworld after years of trying to start a new life running an orphanage.
It's a really cool game, I still haven't completed it and have been playing for close to 70 hours because I'm still going to the casino, batting cages and bowling alley all the time!
I already went to GameStop and bought Yakuza 4, because I like playing 3 so much I figure it could only get better.
Definitely worth a rent or purchase!

Yes, Yakuza is worth playing and buying! The game is just amazing, and the genre is Action Adventure. The new Yakuza: Dead Souls looks like a zombie game, but its still Action Adventure. Anyway, you will not be disappointed by this game, you should start at Yakuza 3 though, 1 and 2 aren't exactly worth playing. And each game has a pretty different story so don't worry about missing out on anything. Bottom line is, put Yakuza 3 in your Q now!
