We all know what happens when video games expand their horizon to movies. Most likley they'll suck. Video game themed movies have a bad reputation for having a long history of sucksation. When companies tried to put Resident Evil, Mario, and Street Fighter in theaters, they garnered a foul reaction.

Though there are some movies that depict the game they're using well. Not all video game movies are bad- they can be decent or even good. Movies like Prince of Persia and Tekken were half way decent.

Movies based on video games mainly depend on public perspective. You can enjoy or hate certian ovies based on gaming, but the opinion on the topic varies by person. Video game movies can even be guilty pleasures for some people.

My favorite video game based movies are Resident Evil (2002) which really captured its survival horror genre, Resident Evil: Apocalypse was pretty good, and Resident Evil Afterlife (2010) was just the best of them all. Tekken also deserves some praise. And so does Mortal Kombat. There are actually a lot of great game based movies, people just don't know where to look.

  1. The only video game movie I have ever watched was super mario brothers. It was ok but wasn't the best movie I've seen. I wish Stephen what's his face to come out with a good video game movie. I think a super smash bros brawl would be awesome! But then again video games are fun because we are making the scenes happen and have a deep understanding of what's going on that you just can't get with a movie.

  2. well i like how they made hitman and max payne .. they were great i can still but them in and watch them over and over and i saw the trailier to bioshock and omg i can't wait until it comes out but it's going to be horror and tekken was awesome well why wouldn't it be i'm a fan !!!
