In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, how do you jump out of a damaged Helicopter?

Well you press the same button to get out of a vehicle as you do to enter one. But if you jump out of a helicopter thats in air, youll die and itll say Epic Fail. I accidently did this yesterday. If you have a damaged helicopter, either fly it down or tell the pilot to go down so you dont commit suicide when you get out.

You press B to jump out out of the helicopter, and A afterwards (or double tap A) to use your parachute.
