What do you think is going to be on the next generation of consoles?
What will the new consoles look like? When will they come out? What special features will they have on them?

Hard one. My guess is there will be one in about two or three years. So don't expect a new Blu-Ray or HD standard by then. These standards are only recently becoming accepted.
Consoles will all have Wifi built in and a hard drive as well. Better graphics etc. Just a regular upgrade is my guess

Honestly, in the next generation I see a big push for mostly digital distrubution and ultimatly trying to make it fully digital.

Who's what'll happen, but I'll share what I'd like to see.
Sony: Start at a significantly lower price, and include a freakin' headset in the box! Also, don't even mention the name of the console until you've got some AMAZING software ready at launch when this comes out. And make it backwards compatible with all of Sony's previous games, and include a small UMD drive to play those PSP games as well (nothing's stopping it, and PSP isn't doing so hot anyway. Kill it and let the games still be played).
Microsoft: Don't call it 720. Come up with something better to call it. Fix your hardware problems once and for all. Gigantic HDD. Blu-Ray. 802.11n built-in. That's pretty much it.
Nintendo: Keep what the Wii has, and add hardcore. MotionPlus in every controller. Longer range for pointing at the screen. Significantly better graphics. Something similar to Xbox Live so I can chat with my friends whenever. Better games. Catch up to the others, and keep what works already!- 0

Built in WiFi, streaming to your TV, full on media center, larger hard drives, next generation 'blu-ray' (whatever that will be). I also seem the console box getting smaller or possibly built into your TV - full integrated. It will also need to network with your phone/handheld, etc. so you can play games while away and upload progress up to your console.

Graphics on Sony and Microsoft's consoles will basically match the CG cutscenes shown in games today. I believe digital distribution will be bigger than ever before. I also think all three companies' systems will have motion controls. Nintendo will finally enter high definition gaming.

Personally I think the next step in consoles will actually be onlive, which is an online application that basically works like on demand by comcast. itll be pretty epic if it works, because youll essentially be able to play crysis on a computer that cost you like $300 at full fps and full hd.

The next gaming platform cycle will most likely be 3D gaming machines. That is the future of gaming. TV's are already in development.
