Is using a headset in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 actually useful?

Or is it a bunch of little kids screaming into their mics?

Both. Due to the size of the maps and the fact that teamwork is required to win matches, headsets are useful.

As with most online games, little kids with Tourette's syndrome are unavoidable. I usually just mute them into oblivion.

  1. Well it is both. Mics are useful to help capture an objective or something like that. And they are very useful when playing with friends.

But if you're doing Squad deathmatch (Or whatever it's called), you don't really need a mic, but it'll help. There will be some little kiddies that think it's funny to yell into the mic, but you can mute them and on Xbox Live you can give them bad reputation.

If you have the money to buy the mic, do it, but if you don't, it's not the end of the world.

  2. I gotta say both too. Lol

if you are playing a racing game on the other hand, not so useful so you could go without. But FPS's. Especially those like Modern Warfare 2 abd Battlefield, a mic can be very effective against skilled players. Communication is a great asset
