Renting games is horrible or superb?
I don't like renting games because it makes you hooked on the game then you have to give it back and chances are your going to buy it after you rent it if you liked it enough. That's wasting money.

Gamefly is the answer. I haven't been to a blockbuster/Hollywood video in a couple years now. For one. They never have what I want. They are slacking terribly in getting the recent releases in my area. And there always out of order or missing a game that should be in.
Gamefly is having issues keeping the higher demand games in stock.

I'm a big fan of supporting game companies over places that rent out games. I'm not dissin Gamefly by any means, I just personally like to obtain games (or get it some other way) rather than temporarily having them...even if the game sucks.

I don't like renting games from video stores because I don't have time to play through a game, even short ones, in only 3-5 days. But services like GameFly are nice because I can keep it until I'm done with it. As far as games go that I know I'm going to like, I just buy them outright so I don't feel like I'm wasting money renting then buying.

SergeantDorito... GameFly might actually be a better solution than you think, since you'll usually have the option to "keep" a game that you've rented (and like) for less than it would cost to buy at retail in most cases.
It also helps to ensure that you don't end up with a bunch of stuff on your shelf that you regret buying or never play.
I guess it just depends on how long it takes before you realize you want to own a particular game or not.
