What game had the longest single player story?
Best Answer
Yeah, this is all up to your personal style of play. Some people can take a game like GTA or Fallout and just follow the story line to finish it. Or even look for cheats online to just say they finished the game.
I like to explore and find things myself. I also like to get as many achievements as possible in Gameplay (not Vs mode) so this can take playing the game multiple times and ways (or at least saving the game right before you get an achievement and then reloading your previous game after you get the achievement one way to get it another way) ex..Fallout 3 level 10 with both Neutral and good charma.
So some games can take one person 10 hours to finish it and others like myself who want to find everything possible in the game myself can play it for 89 hours and still not finished.

Shoot, take your pick from any JRPG pretty much. There are also a lot of pretty lengthy PC RPGs.

Maybe one of the Final Fantasy games. Deus Ex is pretty long...but probably not nearly as long. RPGs, for the most part, are long because of all the random encounters.

That depends on whether you include side-quests as part of the story. Also, more recently, does the inclusion of DLC count? If so, I would vote for Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind with its expansions. Though if you wanna do straight up story I've heard that some of the Dragon Quest games are epically long. DQ 8 took me around 60 hours to finish.

The Shin Megami Tensei series are some of the longest games I have ever played, plus they are pretty good games, reminds me of Pokemon, demonic pokemon, hehe. I think they are even starting their own MMORPG now, it's in beta right now though but I think you can still sign up for free if you want to check it out.

Fallout 3, if only for all the sidequests and weird random stuff that you never see unless you explore everywhere. I've had the game since launch, and only recently did I discover two superheroes hilariously duking it out in Canterbury Commons. If you just plow through the main quest, however, different story.
