Is it true? A new Playstation is in the making?

This early, I doubt it with all of the attention the ps3 is getting and how many games are coming out soon on it. I would believe it if they said that there would be a new update or download for the ps3 like a ps3 version of Windos 7 or something but i really dont think that they would come out with a new ps system yet but if anybody wants to look it up you can go to www.g4tv.com

  1. The only one I can think that is coming soon is the PSP2. I am positive thats in the works. A new actual system is most likely going to be made. They are most likely looking for a CPU right now.

    In short summary YES but not anytime soon the earliest I say would be 3 years or so.

  2. My question that said there might be a new Playstation coming, honestly, probably won't happen for a while. PS3 is already doing things that the other consoles will be doing next generation. And it is true that Kinect is getting more popularity than Move, but Sony has been through low sales numbers before (First 2-3 years of PS3's life cycle).

    If there is a new Playstation console, the earliest you'll even hear about it is probably end of 2012. And it most likely won't come out until 2013 or later.

  3. No, it's not. Sony put far too much into the development of the PS3 for them to start work on another console, they haven't earned much on the PS3 to be able to drop it and come out with another. They have to wait longer, both them and Microsoft need there systems to last longer. R&D for consoles these days is far too high to maintain the life cycle that was last generation.

  4. I'm sure it will be in the making in the next few years, but I don't think that is a priority right now. Sony is putting a lot of effort into making the PS3 3D capable....and the Move. On top of that, they are probably making a new portable system to compete with the 3DS.
