How do you improve the FRPS on a netbook?

I recently got Morrowind for my netbook because GameSpy said it would work. The game runs well but I'd like to improve the FRPS..does anyone know how to fix it?

Dropping the graphical quality generally improves framerate. Though if you don't want to sacrifice that, there may be other options. If you have a dual-core processor in your computer, you might want to set it to only use one. Not sure how that works, but I've seen it offered as advice before for making older games run better with newer processors.

Also, I know some people overclock to get better performance, but trying that on a netbook is probably a bad idea.
