Can the PlayStation 3 watch Blu-ray movies?

i just have a dvd player with that thing that its connected to a vcr but i dont have bluu ray but i know the ps3 can watch movies but can it watch blu ray movies?

Do you have a HDTV? If not I wouldn't worry about watching movies in Blu-ray because you won't be able to see a difference.

  1. Yes it can. That was one of it's original selling points. When the PS3 first came out Blu-ray players were expensive and the PS3 was a great alternative because it played games and Blu-ray movies..
