How much room do you have behind your console?

By that i kind of mean how much space is there behind your console? I have atleast a foot behind my consoles, and i try to get 2 feet or more. I think 6 inches is the recommended space, but i'm not sure. How much space do you actually need behind those machines?

I have a 6 foot stand that holds all my 12 consoles. no back on the stand, so there is about 1-3 feet behind each system (in the corner of the room.)

  1. I had no idea that there were any specifications about space behind a console! What happens if it is in a closed-back entertainment center? Is it the same with dvd players and cable boxes? (Sorry asking more questions rather than answering.)

  2. There's maybe about 2- 3 feet of space behind mine. The entertainment center they're in has an open back and is pulled out pretty far from the wall.
