How do I reset the game Nintendogs for DS?

I bought my son a second hand Nintendogs labs game and i was wondering if there is a way to restart the game from the beginning?

I don't have the game myself but I looked it up and apparently while the game is still oading, press and hold A,B,X,Y,L,R
