If they were to make a video game into a movie, which franchise should be looked at?
Best Answer
Hopefully none of the franchises I'm into... Oh wait, they've already made movies based on Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy... And apparently a Metal Gear Solid movie is on the way...
The sad thing is, they probably could make a decent movie out of many game franchises, but Hollywood doesn't care about being true to the game, they just go ahead and do what they please.

I'm hoping for an Assassin's Creed movie. Seems like a natural.

I really jumped at the answer that other have given with Assassin's Creed. The more I think about it though, the more I would love to see a Warcraft movie.....

They need to cease making movies based on games. Mainly due to people like Uwe Boll...as long as he exists, video games will be ruined. Also the dude that wrote the Chun Li script is writing the Shadow of the Colossus script...it can only end badly. I think it's a conspiracy, the movie execs intentionally make god-awful movies of games so that games don't take over as the predominant media. If people see these movies and they suck, they will think the game sucks and then all games suck.

This is a trick question. None. Movies and gaming should cease to mix. It's appalling.

Based off of what I've seen for Prototype, I think that could be a pretty good movie also. It's just hard to make a good movie based off a video game, because the gamer will be expecting so much out of the movie and Hollywood usually can't deliver.

Barring most video games are crap..
If I was assured that the movie would be the best thing ever (hypothetically speaking) and will possibly win Oscars and break box-office records.
The Legend of Zelda.

I do not think games should be made into movies unless the director has the brains not to mess them up like so many have already been messed up, like Resident Evil, Doom, Hitman. The only decent one but still not that great was Silent Hill and Advent Children and the CG Resident Evil was semi decent also.

None, the film industry has consistently shown that it's not interested in the core plots of games when they adapt them. Deviation is fine and expected, but completely botching things for no apparent reason has proven to be a temptation for some unfathomable reason.

yeah.. I liked Hitman. but thats me, I thought it stuck well to the source. aside from that, all bad. and not looking to get better. With the Peter Jackson produced Halo is MIA and Bioshock having it's budget pulled back, our truly...only hope for a "decent" game movie on the horizon is...Prince of Persia. and I'm flabbergassed they chose Jake Gyllanhal to lead. *sigh*
