Who is or was the BEST video game villain of all time in your opinion.

We have all been in those last battles which have lasted forever, or we have seen those villains that when they appear on screen, they take our breath away just by the visual effects.

I'm guessing Sephiroth will definitely make an appearance on the answer board... Kefka is another great FF boss. Bowser is one of the most renowned bosses, so he needs to be up there. Gannon is quite the power house too... Maybe even Dr. Wiley from Megaman or Robotnik from Sonic. But I'd have to stick with Sephiroth, just because he was one of the first villains that really struck anger in me... sadness from killing one of the characters I had grown attached to... his presence, music, it all really makes him the villain. And what's really great about him isn't that he's necessarily evil. He just has a point of view and wants to get revenge for what was done to him, to his mother, and become one with the universe. Sure, that isn't in the best interest of everyone else, but everyone says look out for number 1... Walking through flames, massacring townspeople and demons, he is a masterpiece of a villain, hyped or not.

    Illidan - Sorry, Arthas the Lich King has him hands down
    Sephiroth - You had it right when you said Kefka ... that was a villain
    Psycho Mantis - Interesting character, but not a great villian

    My personal favorites are:

  7. For me, it's a tossup between Luca Blight from Suikoden 2 and Gigyas from Earthbound (Mother). Gigyas is made of awesome and possibly one of the best villains of all time, but Luca Blight is PSYCHOTIC. And I can't think of anyone else as tough as him. Sephiroth took 9 people to take him down. Luca Blight required 3 teams of 6 who got at LEAST one full revive during the fight, an entire army of archers firing at him execution-squad style, and still had enough left in him to nearly kill the main character in a one-on-one duel. And it's not just that he was tough, it's that he was EVIL, unequivocally single-minded in the pursuit of his goal of killing as many people as he could.

    Also, Sephiroth is overrated.
