What is your Favorite Console and Why?
The debate rages on and I think most people probably own multiple consoles now, but do you have a favorite console? I think I'm leaning towards the PS3 as you get both a Blu-Ray player and console. I also think it has the greatest room for growth as far as graphics and game play go.

System of all time? Or just current gen? I've always loved Sony (Although Nintendo has had some amazing games...), so I'd say my 60gb (actually 320gb... but 60gb model) PS3. It plays all my games from my PS1 and PS2 library, which is about... 130ish games... too lazy to count. Then it has about 30 PS3 games. Add in that it plays DVDs, Blu Rays, the exclusive downloadable titles... Plus exclusive games such as MGS4, FF XIII: Versus, Uncharted, inFamous, Little Big Planet... Then all the great multi platform games that were originally exclusive to the 360... and I've got a winner.

PS3/Sony in general. The Playstation has been my general favorite since I got my first PS1, most of the games I own are on the PS2, and now I own a PS3 and I just love it. The only thing that would make my PS3 perfect if it was backwards compatible. Sadly, Sony made some mistakes with the PS3, even though it's my favorite at the moment, it still could be better. I didn't think I'd care about blu-ray upon buying a PS3, but it actually turned out to be really cool. I even bought my first blu-ray movie recently. I also use my external hard drive and PS3 to watch series, movies, anime, look at high-res art and photography and sometimes play music. On the gaming side, the PS3 has a decent library so far, and I'm expecting it to grow huge over the years. It's also awesome that online is free, especially since I'm not much of an online gamer.
Besides PS3, I also like the Wii. It's simple, fun to play with IRL friends, decent library and a good price for the system and games. (I want to play the new RE and SH.)- 1

I really do love my PS3. With built in wi-fi, a slew of card readers to easily upload photos, four usb ports to charge my mic, controller, and ipod all at the same time, and i just set up Tversity so I can stream all my shows to it from our home network. It is an all-in-one media package. With that said, I still play games on my 360 more. The main reason being that when a game come out for both systems, the 360 version will output in 1080p and the PS3 game will only output at 720P. It makes no sense and it angers me greatly that the developers would do that but I'm not gonna play a game in 720 when I can play it at 1080.

I also love my PS3. I use it as a media server so I can stream content from my PC to my 65" HDTV. It truly is an all in one unit for your entertainment needs.

None, a console is just a box to put games in. Even looking at the games available for each system, it's impossible to choose since each system or console era excelled (or at least is most well represented) by different genres. The 360/PS3 have the most/best FPS/TPS, but the PS2 had some of the most abundant weird Japanese efforts and survival horrors.

My opinion changes with the times, but currently I am in love with my DS because so many great games are available. I also like that so many 2D games are available on the DS. It's the best source for 2D gaming.
Many series such as Castlevania have survived because of the DS.

I'd have to say SNES. It had some of the best roleplaying and adventure games of all time. Final Fantasy 3, Earthbound, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, ActRaiser, and SoulBlazer to name a few. But of the current gen I'd have to say PS3. It has great games and Blu-Ray built in. Some favorites of mine are Little Big Planet, Resistance series, and Ratchet and Clank. I really hope White Knight Chronicles ends up being awesome.

My favorite console right now is the xbox 360, love getting those achievement points, but I also enjoy the PS3, Wii and I even go back and play my PS2 and older consoles sometimes.

I dont want to see any fan boys war over here, but i tend to prefer atm the Xbox360...not only because it has a great amout of games but also has an excellent serive..LIVE...Of course im not saying that PS3 isnt good...but atm Xbox360 is at his best and lets see how things going to work. PS3 has good games, such LBP, Metal Gear, Killzone....But you know...still has to make something out of that console that really makes me buy one for myself (in the meanwhile i'll just play ps3 on my friends house :D)

The 360 because of game variety, DLC, arcade titles, & Netflix integration. I canceled my cable a year ago because all my tv ever gets used for is done through the xbox.

All time? N64. Current, XBOX 360. My Wii just collects dust, my PS3 only gets played when I want to go to Fenway and play some baseball. XBOX live is pure magic (aside from some of the people on it). But the ease of getting together with friends online is amazing. The PS3 online structure is just weird.

My favorite console of this generation is easily the Xbox 360. Yes you have to pay for Live, but its faster and more reliable than the PSN. Plus, the library of Xbox exclusives, not to mention DLC exclusivity, is much better on the 360. And the controller is better. The dualshock's analog sticks being in the center of controller make my hands feel cramped.
