What is Clueless?

Clueless is a daily word-guessing game from LessGames in which you start with no information at all. Every guess returns a distance showing how far it is from the secret word, and you narrow the answer down by triangulating between guesses.

The game publishes one numbered word per day, and the answer can be any length.

How to play Clueless

Type any word and submit. The game shows how close it is to the secret word. Keep guessing, using the distances to move closer, until you land on the answer or give up to see it.

A new Clueless word is released every day on a US schedule. We publish hints and answers as soon as the puzzle is available and keep every previous day in the archive above.

3. 3Think about word familiesThe secret word's neighbours in meaning are usually its neighbours in distance.
4. 4Do not fixate on lengthAnswers vary from four letters to ten or more.
5. 5Give up gracefullyThe give-up button reveals the word without ending your streak.
