- Find the longest word first. The letters usually spell one word that uses all of them. It fills the longest slot.
- Work the plurals. If there is an S, most words can be pluralised for an extra entry.
- Use short words to unlock crossings. Three-letter words fill fast and reveal letters in the longer slots.
